Can I just say how cool it was that both of these superheroines’ personalities and powers were explored in this episode? And how well it was done?

Starfire was not shamed for being emotional. Her powers come from her emotions.

Raven was not shamed for suppressing her emotions. Her power requires amazing control.

They both. Work. They are both different kinds of strength, and they are both heroic and powerful and good. And they each learned from the other, and helped each other out by seeing from each others’ perspective, and finding the value in their differing approaches! Wow!

Fuck yes, this is how you write super-ladies, okay. There’s more than one way to be a “strong female character.” There’s all different kinds of strength. Why don’t more people GET this?

i’m sorry! i didn’t think people checked the ‘dw’ tag… in fact, i use that tag so people who aren’t whovians but follow me regardless can block it and won’t have to put up with it. i don’t like seeing hate in tags either, and i’m sorry to have upset you with it.

i’m so mad with doctor who right now i want to punch things

has the doctor even given river his sonic yet? like, was that something i entirely missed, because i didn’t know that happened yet (please, if there has been a new sonic this entire time, correct me. i’ve been oblivious to plot advances before.) not to mention this whole time we were promised that river would be so incredibly important to him. so important that he would give her his sonic and even tell her his name, but she’s gotten almost no character development. suddenly her and the doctor just started to tell each other they love one another, but there’s a massive jump and it makes me really upset.

i want to love river so much. i want her to be strong, independent, and happy because in my head she’s capable of all of these things. but she’s not. nor was amy. and want to adore amy, i do. in the end though, i think i liked her because of the way i imagined her off screen (the same goes for river). because really, everything she had ever done in the series was linked to either the doctor or rory.
